Converting MP4 To MP3

MP4 file format is also known as the MPEG-4 Part 14 or officially, it is called ISO/IEC 14496-14:2003. It is actually a multimedia format standard invented to be a division of MPEG-4. This file format is usually used to store digital audio and video streams, mainly those defined by MPEG but it can also be employed to store other data such as still images or subtitles. Its counterpart is MPEG-1 Audio Layer 3 or MP3. There is software available to convert MP4 to MP3 and vice versa. MP3 is a patented digital audio encoding format that uses the data compression. Generally it is a widely used audio file format for normal audio storage. It is also actually a standard for digital audio compression for the playback or transfer of music using digital audio players. The easiest and simplest way to change MP4 to MP3 will be using the iTunes. Here is the list of instructions that will aid you in the conversion process. Firstly, open the iTunes application. The select the song you wish to convert. Adjourn to the iTunes menu bar and look for "Preferences" or alternatively, you can click on the "command" and "comma" keys. Then select "Advanced" option at the Preferences window. At the "Advanced" section, select the button stating "Importing" and when "Import Using" appears, select the "MP3 Encoder". This implies that it will convert MP4 to MP3. Then under the Settings click on the "Custom". Actually you can select any of the options available but the "Custom" settings will ensure that you select the accurate bit rate. If you have chosen "Custom", you will observe a window pop up to make sure that your Sample Rate and Stereo Bit Rate are your preferred settings. For the best audio quality, use a setting of 44.1 kHz. But if you are uncertain on how to customize the settings then default settings will work fine for you. Then close the Preferences window but before that make sure you check that you have selected the right song. Then select "Advanced" at the iTunes menu and click on the "Convert Selection to MP3" and it will begin to change MP4 to MP3 format. When the conversion is done, you will see two songs having the same title. View the file information to know which song is in the new MP3 format.
